Pass the Parcel is a game that will require preparation prior to the party. Take numerous sheets of different coloured paper or wrapping paper and a small gift or candy as the prize.
Wrap the prize in one sheet of paper. Then continue to wrap the parcel with one sheet of paper until you have used all the paper.
Once the party has started, seat everyone on the floor in a circle and give the rather large parcel to the birthday child to start. Start the music and the parcel is to be passed around the circle, person by person. Without looking, (to avoid any favouritism), pause the music. Whoever has the parcel when the music stops unwraps one sheet of paper. Restart the music and continue passing round the parcel. Repeat until all the sheets are removed and one person has unwrapped the grand prize!
